The world is a little chaotic sometimes. It might be chaotic from disasters like Earthquakes and hurricanes, or it might be chaotic in our own lives with stresses from work, family and just normal life chaos.
It’s in times like these I often find myself longing for peace and calm. I plead with God for a “break”, and often am reminded that all I need to do is sit in His presence. He calls for us to be still, so that we can know He is in control.
Paul writes to the Corinthians about this characteristic of God:
“…for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.” (1 Cor. 14:33 NASB)
Paul has just finished telling the Corinthians that God’s prophets shouldn’t create confusion because that is not who God is. He’s reminding them of the truth, and how easily we can be deceived. He tells them that our Lord is not one of confusion, but of peace.
Things to think about today:
- How is God the God of Peace in your life right now?
- What areas do you need to let Him be your peace?
