Being missional – if you are a follower of Christ, you know we should do it. We all groan when we are asked about this during accountability, or when our pastor mentions it. While we all may think about it, how intentional are you? I know I think about it a lot, and what I can do. I may even plan out scenarios, and think about how God could use my plans to do great things (ha!).
One thing I’ve learned so far is that God’s plans are usually different from mine. However, I know that God can change my heart and my plans through prayer. I need to commune with Him in order to have a soft and ready heart, and to be in tune with His spirit, either to open my eyes to opportunities in front of me, or to be open to the words He may want to give me.
The wisdom writers share in Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.”
Pray today for your heart, and that you would be sensitive to the opportunities even in the next couple of days. Pray intentionally, specifically and with expectation. You never know what God can do!
