There are a lot of people in our communities that don’t know Jesus. A lot of the time, I’m completely unaware of the needs of those around me. I go about my day, and just assume everyone around me is good unless they tell me otherwise.
In the early church, the founders made sure new believers were aware what true fellowship meant. In Acts 2:42-47, it is written, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
God calls us to love on our neighbors, our family, our church family, and those in our lives where we live work and play.
Today, Pray for:
- Pray for God to show you some needs of those around you, and how He might use you.
- Pray for people in your church community that are in need right now – financially, spiritually, emotionally…
- Pray for your family members and any needs they have right now.
- Pray for people in your neighborhood, where you live. Pray for opportunities to interact with them, and share Christ’s love.
